Horrible awful NPR tells us today that the Nobel Prize for Literature is too Eurocentric and my thinking is yeah, it probably is, what about the rest of the world? But, no. NPR thinks it should be given to an American. Sheesh. Who knew the world was composed of Europe and America and no other countries.

I am so scared. I will be in Italy and Spain for ten days. I am leaving tomorrow. I do not know Italian and my Spanish is very bad. I know this won't be like Russia but international travel is daunting nonetheless.

Today I will plant pansies and mums and buy snacks for the train and the plane and practice deep breathing.

I am looking at Collegetown blazers and Depression glass on eBay. Yummy, though I hate having an aesthetic I can't place.

I guess it's mommy & me day in the coffeeshop, cause there are a ton of babies. Little little red babies with shocks of dark hair! Tiny infants in onesies. Oh god.
